Claire brunk - wildlife rehabilitator
Claire Brunk is a wildlife rehabilitator whose passion for conservation began at a young age, growing up surrounded by animals and developing an early appreciation for wildlife and the environment. She gained over 2 years of hands-on experience at a wildlife hospital, where she cared for orphaned mammals and birds, adult raptors, and seabirds. During her time there, she progressed from working in the Nursery and Adult Rehabilitation departments to independently running her own Nursery section during baby season, helping young wildlife grow strong enough to return to the wild.
Claire’s experience in wildlife rehabilitation strengthened her belief in the impact one person can have on conservation. Her dedication to wildlife earned her the inaugural WLW-ECOS internship scholarship at Florida Atlantic University and led to a feature about her work being published by FAU.
Claire holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a focus in Environmental Science, along with certificates in Biological Research and Environmental Science. She hopes to continue combining wildlife conservation and veterinary care throughout her career, with the goal of pursuing veterinary medicine and specializing in wildlife conservation.
