Julie D’Errico · Development Associate and Volunteer Manager

Local native Julie D'Errico grew up “wild”, swimming in the Oleta river and snorkeling for horseshoe crabs in Crandon park. It was no shock that once she discovered you could have a career with wildlife, she was hooked. Julie graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor's in Biology and a minor in Marine Science while working full-time at a Florida wildlife hospital. Gaining experience in research she worked on Seagrass beds, Marine mammal gut content, frog populations, and most recently displaced Gopher Tortoise populations.

Julie has spent her whole adult career working towards a mission of protection and conservation of wild animals and the wild places they live. This continues in her role with Pelican Harbor Seabird Station where she will engage the community in volunteering their time and falling in love with our local Fauna.
