our annual 5k race for wildlife!

Since 2022, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station has hosted an annual Pelican Run 5K at Haulover Park. During this fun-filled event, over 300 racers and their families start their morning with a bird release along the water followed by a lively morning run with snacks and awards at the finish. All proceeds of the Pelican Run 5k directly benefit our wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education programs and expose our work to new members of the community.

400 Runners, One Cause - this year's Pelican Run 5K drew 400 participants - our highest attendance ever. There is something truly moving about seeing so many people show up at 7:00 on a Saturday morning, lace up their shoes, and run for wildlife. Every step on that course is a vote for a better future for the animals we share this city with, and this year more people than ever cast that vote.
